Time is like a vast sea of stars, and a fragment is eternity.
The designer first created a figurative urge to destroy reality in the entrance lobby of the cinema – using fragments to compare the light of the Big Bang, slicing through the still dark void. These seemingly weightless fragments are like constantly unfolding thoughts, which spread to the whole public space figuratively, deconstructing the foundation of the points, lines and surfaces of the building, like the endless whispers of lovers, and like psychedelic stars. Visitors walk in such a fragmented space, looking at themselves through different reflective surfaces, instantly blending with the environment, becoming a flowing image, overlapping, blurring, and gradually disappearing.
Tahoe Cinemas – Shanghai 118 Square Store, with a total area of 4,070 square meters, has eight theaters. The design of different theaters continues the fragmented approach to create a variety of space types. By breaking the complete space to express the interspersed and jumping of the film narrative in time and space, it is also used to miss the beautiful traces of the past.
